I went on a really amazing hike this past summer and am so excited that I’ve finally organized the photos to make this post. We hiked up to a spot called Gwillim Lakes which is located in Valhalla Provincial Park in the Kootenays of British Columbia.

Throughout the entire ascent you are surrounded by a mountainous and rocky landscape. You weave in and out of the trees and open up to incredible views. The higher you climb, the more grand these vistas become.

As its name suggests, once you get to Gwillim Lakes there is an abundance of lakes all around you that call for endless exploring. We pitched our tent, settled in and made our home base for the next couple of days. Each day we would set off to climb more giant rocks and see even more amazing scenery.
