The first thing Becca said to me when we were about to start her maternity session was a warning that she was going to be awkward in front of the camera. I photographed her wedding last year and learned a little something from her husband Gavin, who, throughout the portrait part of their wedding photos, whispered sweet nothings about their cat babies in her ear. This had Becca laughing and smiling the whole time and when she’s smiling, she’s radiating. So after a few bad jokes, and many laughs over me telling her to ‘gallivant naturally ‘ through fields of long grass in a crop top with her belly bare for all to see, if Becca felt awkward during this maternity session she sure hid it well behind that ear to ear smile of hers.

Becca was simply glowing as she hugged her baby belly the whole session and contemplated the little ‘blueberry’ that is growing inside of her. We talked about the incredible transformation a woman experiences through the miracle of pregnancy, and Becca expressed how much love she felt for this little human that she hadn’t even met yet but is already so much a part of her.

Congratulations Becca (and Gavin!), I can’t wait to meet the little babe.
