I had the absolute pleasure of starting off my 2017 summer wedding season with Alex and Paul’s stunning Bodega Ridge Wedding. Alex and Paul were originally having a bit of difficulty finding a venue for their wedding, and I think it’s because the place, the actual landscape, where they said their vows to one another was important to them. It had to feel meaningful to them. Although Alex is originally from Victoria, her and Paul live in Scotland and Alex mentioned to me many times how Scotland has a lot of similarities to the west coast of Canada. I got a sense that that was comforting to her. Bodega Ridge ended up working out like a dream for their wedding because the landscape and view it provides is unparalleled. It really gave all the out of town guests an amazing impression of this beautiful part of the world where Alex grew up.
Alex and Paul are wonderful hosts. They were moving around the room all night making sure they connected meaningfully with everyone that was there. Since they had guests from all their different walks of life at their wedding, it was really important to Alex and Paul that everyone integrate and get comfortable with one another. They did an amazing job making strangers feel like friends by the end. Congratulations Alex and Paul! And I hope to see you in Scotland one day 🙂
