So often we underestimate the value of place. All particular places are made up physically and spiritually of the histories of everything that happened there. A place can hold so much meaning to someone.
A wedding, among many things, is a unification of families- a creation of a new family. This is why I think it’s so special when people are able to use a place infused with so much personal meaning as the place where they express their love and commitment to one another. They are able to weave another piece of history into a place already so dear to them.
Duncan and his family grew up on this stunning acreage in Salmon Arm. With much love and hard work, they converted it into an incredibly beautiful place to have a wedding. Open farm fields, mountainous backdrops, grazing cows, gardens of homegrown flowers, and an old rustic barn make up the scene for Sarah and Duncan’s Salmon Arm wedding.
I couldn’t be more honoured to have photographed this wedding. Sarah and Duncan are two of the sweetest people I’ve ever met, and I felt welcomed by everyone involved in their union with such open arms. This was one of those weddings where, by the end, I felt like a guest and didn’t want to leave. Thank you so much Sarah and Duncan, and Congratulations again!
By the way, after Sarah and Duncan’s wedding, Jordan- Duncan’s sister- officially turned the farm into an event venue! Check out the website here: Dolan Creek Farm 🙂
