I really do love how small the world is. I met Jocelyn, the stunning bride, originally about 6 years ago at a wedding I photographed down in Mexico. I then met Dan, the groom, separately in early 2017, as he was the best man of a wedding I photographed in Calgary. Not long after that, these two were engaged, and planning their own wedding for that coming summer!
My family is all in Calgary and I visit often, so I had the chance to meet up with these two and chat about their wedding at The Nash YYC. Just a few months later I was flying back out to photograph it!
These two make a great duo. Laughter and joy are prominent in every aspect of their being. Jocelyn has the biggest smile I’ve ever seen. She even made jokes to me about it being miraculous if I managed to capture any photos of her without her mouth wide open. And Dan seems quiet, but he has a cunning sense of humour, mixed with a smart smile and a gentle look in his eye.
Their positive and calm energy was contagious, and you can tell they surround themselves with like-minded people. It was such a pleasure photographing Jocelyn and Dan’s Calgary wedding at The Nash!
I also want to thank one of Jocelyn’s bridesmaids, who hilariously, but so generously, gave me her shoes at the end of the night. Lol. After a conversation about where she got her shoes, because I was to be a bridesmaid myself the following month, and was looking for shoes just like that, she took off her heels, handed them to me, and said “You should just take these ones!”. Barefoot, she insisted. I tried them on and like Cinderella they fit like a glove- and I have very small feet- so I gratefully accepted. They worked perfectly, and have come in handy many times since then 🙂
Also, a huge congratulations to Jocelyn and Dan because these two are now parents!
