For this Victoria BC Family Photography session, I’m back again with the wonderful Mather family :). Before little Gabe was born, (you might remember those photos here: Gabe’s newborn session), we did a maternity and family session with their first born Jane.
I remember Rebecca telling me how quickly she felt time was going by in this second pregnancy; which I imagine a lot of women feel when they’re already busy taking care of another child. When I was pregnant, especially through the days when I felt awful, I was in awe of the women who were pregnant and ALSO had a child at home! I couldn’t imagine, especially on those days of pregnancy when I didn’t even have the energy to pry myself off the couch, that I’d have to be up chasing around a toddler. It didn’t seem feasible, and I genuinely wondered how on earth women did it.
But something beautiful I’ve learned through being pregnant and now raising a newborn, is that people just do it. Our ‘normal’ shifts to become a new normal, and it’s not so crazy anymore. It’s still incredible, and admirable, but we are very resilient and adaptable beings. There’s an adjustment period of course, but sooner than later you don’t even remember your life before. And now, you are simply overcome with so much love and wonder for these little humans you made, grew, and raised.
Thank you AGAIN to the Mather family for this Victoria BC Family Photography session. It has been so fun watching your family grow.
I’d love to photograph your family, so please get in touch :).
