Nothing like a little rain on your wedding day… or how about a sideways wind, thunder, and hail storm? Kayley and Jarod saw it all for their Salmon Arm wedding at Dolan Creek Farm. As Kayley and Jarod were getting ready the morning of their big day, back at their venue, the wind and rain was so strong it was literally knocking over, and breaking glass wear on the tables. Beautifully designed floral arrangements were blowing away, and table linens were getting soaking wet. The weather was so insane, and uncommon for this time of year. There was even talk of moving the whole wedding to a backup indoor location.
BUT, look at those faces!! Kayley and Jarod hardly even noticed it was raining for their Salmon Arm wedding. They proudly stood under the downpour to exchange their vows. Phhhesssshhhh indoor location! These two so gracefully took the crazy weather in stride. They didn’t let it disrupt their day, or their moods. This is what I appreciate so much about my clients- at their very core, what my clients care about is marrying one another. When push comes to shove, they’re not fussed about things they have no control over. Their union, and commitment to one another, is the most important thing.
Also, when you scroll through these photos and see all their guests, including grandmas, sitting under the rain with big smiles on their faces, you know that all their guests care about too, is being there for Kayley and Jarod. In fact, the way Kayley and Jarod’s guests handled the crazy weather, is a testament to how loved Kayley and Jarod are. They had many friends and family members teaming up to help deal with the rain in any way they could. Friends were setting off to buy every umbrella Salmon Arm had to sell, while others were at the venue stringing up tarps, and helping to clean up the table settings. Rain might not be what you want on your wedding day, but it sure does make it memorable.
Thank you Kayley and Jarod for being such awesome people who roll with the punches, and don’t sweat the small stuff. And thank you Dolan Creek Farm, for having me photograph at your beautiful venue once again 🙂 (to view a non-rainy wedding at Dolan Creek Farm, click here: Sarah & Duncan).
