A Goddess Session is a creative portrait session that allows you the space to freely express yourself. Why are all the Goddess Session Locations outdoors? Because I feel that connecting with nature is essential to our lives- in grounding us, and helping us to feel calm and at peace. Doing the photo session outdoors helps us both channel that calming and grounding energy. What better place to let your wild self shine than by crawling barefoot along rocks, frolicking in the grass, or lying down in the sand?

Victoria BC and the surrounding area have no shortage of stunning outdoor locations for your Goddess Session. Here is a look at some of my favourite spots:

Thetis Lake

Thetis Lake offers great variety. It’s a very big park with lots of forest and a big beautiful lake. Forests are so great as they can give your Goddess Session a whimsical and playful feel. And the lake is perfect for mysterious looking photos in the water. Also, somehow, the light at Thetis Lake is always impressive. It must be the way the sun sets behind the trees or something, but every time I have photographed there, the light has been pure magic.

East Sooke Park

East Sooke Park is quite big, and I’ve mostly photographed on the East side, at the Aylard Farm area. I love it there. It faces east and at the time of day when we’ll be doing our Goddess Session (a few hours before sunset), the sun has already moved on and past. The combination of the shade, the ocean, and the dark rocks, East Sooke Park offers a wonderfully moody vibe.

West Coast Beaches

These beaches, which include French, Sand Cut, Mystic, Sombrio, etc. are for the adventurous! They are approximately 1.5/2 hours from Victoria, but the drive is worth it! With no human development nearby, these beaches are all natural. They are beautifully wild, and feel truly ‘west coast’. They give a very peaceful, and calm energy to your Goddess photos.

Inner city Mountain Tops, like Mt. Doug and Gonzales Hill

A mountain is very metaphorical; it can stand for conquering challenges, and overcoming obstacles. Your Goddess Session photos from the top of any mountain have a very powerful look and feel to them. When you’re ‘on top of the world’, as you feel when at the top of a mountain, you channel that force and your Goddess photos reflect that powerful energy.
